Hotel Kampa history

vvThe first written record of the building complex, where Michna Palace and Hotel Kampa are located, is from 1293. In 1330, the Queen Elizabeth of Bohemia founded a monastery in this territory, which was burned down in 1420. After that, there are no more records about this place and buildings.

Another mention comes from the 17th century, which is the most important period for Michna Palace and Hotel Kampa. Michna Palace was built in the Renaissance style and it has been rebuilt six times. In this period, the riding hall and stables were built and nowadays they serve as a hotel and restaurant (Hotel Kampa).

In 1767, the palace became the Austrian army headquarters. Since 1921, the palace has been managed by the Czech Sokol Community.
